My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. He keeps the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints.
Proverbs 2:1-8
The importance of sound doctrine has been a continually pressing issue on my heart, and as I watch the winds that pass through the Church, and what is accepted and followed, my heart sinks and stirs in frustration.
I’m only one man, young and inexperienced in this journey of life, but I want to heed the advice of Proverbs 2 and seek the wisdom the Lord provides, that He may preserve my walk. I’ve decided to try and restart my biblically-centered blog in an effort to do and share whatever wisdom I can. Ultimately, it will be the Lord’s work should my words (or hopefully, His words through me) actually help anyone, but at the very least it will serve as an exercise for me to write my thoughts, elaborate my beliefs, express my knowledge and share to anyone willing to read.
I pray that the Lord can use this blog to teach, reprove, correct and instruct in righteousness, that I may be complete and thoroughly equipped for every good work. That through writing, I may study to show myself approved by God, unashamedly and rightly dividing the word of truth. Finally, that I may do all of these things in love, the same love that Christ showed a sinful man such as myself, and to Him be all the glory, Amen.
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.
